DJ Calloway

Radio Engineer, Producer, DJ, Radio Broadcasting, Promoter, CEO, and electronic music enthusiast alike, DJ Calloway hails out of Orlando, Florida.  When not performing, he spends his time in the studio creating music… aided by over three decade of managing recording artist and an upbringing in a very musically-influenced home.  Having spent many years performing at major local night clubs (alongside local hard-hitters and national acts, alike), holding multiple residencies, DJ-ing special events and promoting his own shows, DJ Calloway has had a lot of time to develop his sound.  For him, it’s all about mood and a deep, hypnotic Funk groove… playing those tracks that get you to start tapping your feet and nodding your head without you realizing it, regardless of genre, tempo, style or release date.  Don’t be surprised when you suddenly find yourself dancing to the groove of his musical playlist.

DJ Calloway describes himself as a funk DJ.  Never afraid to go too deep, his emotive musical selections are his own therapy.  Having grown up on his father’s eclectic combination of funk music (George Clinton, Cameo), European electronica (Kraftwerk, Art of Noise), synth-infused 80s music (Prince, Bootsy Collins)… all which became infused with his own love for both hip-hop and Deep Bass music, DJ Calloway ended up with quite a mixed spectrum of musical influence.  Today, this translates into sets where he picks apart and infuses together all the pieces of this music that he loves best: beautiful synth work, ethereal backdrops, brooding basslines, and occasional vocal hooks… all on top of a pronounced foot-shuffling Jamz beat.

A very active member of his local community, DJ Calloway is no stranger to the ups-and-downs of a small-town music scene.  Though he loves of his radio show, and special events, his love for music goes beyond the spectrum of mixing tunes.  As a producer, Radio Engineer, and promoter, he has found plenty of ways to express himself musically.  He also likes to manage artist and assist with their careers, skyctydjz.net – a website dedicated to helping recording artist get gigs and others become better DJs through passion and purpose. Knowing first and foremost, that he has a profound love for his spiritual walk, he has extreme passion for the Gospel community of music. Trusting God and the divine radio connection he has developed over the years, he is a perfectly aligned programmer, with none other than Gospel Voice of the Internet Airways, Michele’……as they both take the internet by storm, with their musical format on skyctydjz.net
